Nassau Street that is, just south of College and just west of Spadina. There is an alley that runs north from Nassau directly behind Spadina. A dead end lane runs perpendicular to it, behind the houses on Nassau Street. Like most alleys in Toronto, there is street art there. Some old, some new, and unfortunately some scribbled over. All in all, this lane is looking a little worn.

Stephen Andrews POV
an exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario
Stephen Andrews is a Toronto artist whose career began in photography and the exhibit now on at the AGO does include a few excellent 8×10 photographs. The main part of the exhibit though are approximately 20 (mostly large) paintings of his.

The two paintings on the wall were based on landscapes by J.M.W. Turner that depicted scenes before and after the flood described in the bible (or before and after chaos). Andrews has painted his with dots in only four colours, yellow, magenta, cyan and black

The Ontario Bread Company is located near Dundas and Ossington.
It had an Ossington Ave address but it is surrounded by lanes.
In September of 2013 it went out of business. The building is still there but it is empty.

The bakery was founded in 1935 by Polish immigrants and they specialized in Polish, and other Eastern European, breads. BlogTO did an interesting piece about the bakery in August 2013.
There is a lumber yard adjacent to the bakery on the same lane.
What follows are some of the photos that I took as I walked the “block” of lanes around the bakery and the lumber yard. Some of the graffiti has been there for a few years.

Since most of the city woke up to snow flurries this morning, I thought I would take a quick look back over the past month. October was a beautiful month with many clear sunny days. The leaves on the trees turned wonderful colours this autumn and the colours lingered for a few weeks.

Toronto is undergoing a massive amount of redevelopment these days. When I walk around this city I see older buildings that I often wonder about – are they going to still be around in 2 years? 5 years?
….that is what happened yesterday when I was on Yonge St. between Bloor and College. I took a few pictures, just in case these buildings disappear in the near future.

Reflections I noticed as I walked up Simcoe and across King this afternoon.
I often see tourists stopped here to take photos. I decided that it was my turn today. The CN Tower is also reflected in this building, along with St. Andrews Church.
