First trip to McLeans Auto Wreckers near Acton Ontario.

A field with rows of abandoned cars and trucks.

McLeans has hundreds, if not thousands, of rusty old cars, vans, trucks, buses, tractors, vehicles of all sizes and shapes.

Some of the cars were in fields and were easily accessible. Others were tucked back into the trees. These were probably once in a field too…. but the trees grew up around them!

There were cars from the 1940s through to the 1990s.

There were cars from the 1940s through to the 1990s.  Although most of the cars were in rows, there were a number of cars stacked on top of each other.

.

Most of the cars had obviously been picked over for spare parts or scrap metal. While we were there, we met a man who was looking for parts that were specific for a certain model of car but only between 1964 and 1966. I am not sure if he was successful!

An old Volkswagen Beetle sits on the roof of another car. Not much except the frame remains of the Bug.

An old VW Bug that has has been scavanged for parts. Not much remains. The licence plate is from 1973.

Three abandoned cars. Two of them have the front doors open. THere is a tree growing between one of the cars and its open door.

I am not sure how old the tree is, but the car has obviously been there for a while!

Not many windshields were still intact.

… and most of the doors were open (or missing).  I am not very good at identifying car models and I wish I could say more about the cars that I took pictures of.
