Covering the exterior walls of a small empty building on the corner of Charlotte and Adelaide West is a collection of images.  This project, Paste Platz, is the work of Jeremy Lynch.  He asked some instagram users (artists, graffiti artists, photographers, etc ) if they wanted to contribute images.  He then printed pictures the pictures and created the scene you see below.   I haven’t tried to identify which pieces were provided by which artist; instead, I have made a list of the contributors at the bottom of this post along with a link to their instagram pages.  If you have been following this blog, you will recognize some of the street art.  But a lot of it should be new!

Obey Bill Gates and other messages on a temporary plywood wall in Kensington – a 2020 wall.  Wash your hands.  6 feet apart, 6 feet deep, 6 degrees of isolation/separation.

Africism and more obey.  86 Nassau sits empty behind the plywood as the fence evolves.  Stop burning my ancestors.  We live here.

It’s not as purple as it used to be. Over the years it’s faded a bit. It wasn’t in good shape when I first saw it years ago; now it’s in even rougher condition. The ground floor storefronts are boarded up but whether or not the upper floors are unoccupied is questionable.

The whole block (1423 to 1437, Perth to Sterling) has now been acquired by a development company but so far there has been no proposal for the site.

The next few photos are of street art that isn’t new (and it may appear in earlier blog posts). There are usually cars parked here and today most of the parking spots were empty.
