The event started with a few speeches.   French Consul General Mr. Marc Trouyet spoke first, followed by Carolyn Bennett, Liberal MP and then Toronto mayor John Tory.

The intersection of Yonge and Dundas as a location for a few wedding pictures!

A quick google search shows that it’s not the first time a couple has chosen this location to shoot a few wedding pictures but it’s the first time that I have encountered it!   Yesterday afternoon….

Stop Bill C-51 Protest and Rally
Nathan Phillips Square, noon, Saturday 14 March

It was a foggy and damp morning before the protest.

but the rain held off once the rally started.

Theo Van Gogh was a Dutch film producer, writer and actor.   He helped create a short film depicting the mistreatment of  Islamic women after which he received death threats.  In November of 2004 he was murdered in Amsterdam.

7 kids, 7 sticks and a spinning plate

Dundas Square, 9 Aug

A recipe for entertainment. Good for all ages, especially good for the kids.

Without talking,

  1.   Find seven kids,
  2.  Line them up from tallest to shortest,
  3.  Give each one a wooden stick.
  4.  Spin a metal plate,
  5.  Put it on top of the first child’s stick.
  6. Have them pass the plate to the next child’s stick.
  7. Attempt to get the plate passed all the way down the line.
