This year there were five installations at Woodbine Beach for the annual ‘Winter Stations’ event. Yesterday, February 18th, was the opening day. It was also a holiday Monday, Family Day, and lots of people were at the beach.

Apparently, this was the 5th year for ‘Winter Stations’. Previous years ‘Winter Stations’ blog posts:
Flotsam and Jetsam and others (2017)
Warming with everyone and their dog – almost (2018)
I can always count on you to have great photos from an event like this one. While the splash of colour on the beach was a pleasure to see, I found the installations rather underwhelming.
My favourite moment while visiting was at the Mind Station when a small child and I both poked our heads through the roof at the same time beside each other. We both burst out laughing. I think that was the whole purpose of the station … the unexpected ‘meeting of minds’ above the fray 🙂
I’ve always found that each year the installations are varied – i.e. some good, some not so good. What I liked this year is that they are all close together. They seemed to be geared more towards “walking through” than lingering.
You can probably tell from the photos that I was there twice. The first time, Friday, they were still constructing some of the installations and there were very few people there. It was much nicer yesterday with the sun, snow, and lots of people.
I had seen your earlier photos and it looks like Monday was the nicest day.
I was surprised how many people were down there early Sunday morning when it was so cold.
