If you walk south through Monarch Park this is the view that greets you as you approach the railway underpass. Elicser has painted a large mural that extends from the park through to the Woodfield Community Rail Garden that is on the other side. As you walk through the underpass this is what you see:
It’s February so the community garden is still resting for the winter. A shed with all four sides painted by Monica on the Moon provides some colour in the meantime.
The path continues…. a slight curve and you’re on Woodfield Road and on your way again.
I had to look up where Monarch Park was located and to my surprise discovered it is very near where I used to live when my boys were very young! Sadly I never explored much in those younger days.
You’re proving that great murals are popping up everywhere and underpasses are very popular locations. My favourite photo is 3rd from the end where you’ve managed to capture the passing VIA train with its Canada logo on the far left.
There’s been a lot added to that mural since I last explored it. Park is great too — you can see an indent from a former creek.
I love his work!
Love it, but … do you suppose he’ll ever give one of his people a smile? (In fact, I think I saw a smiling Elicser face once, somewhere, a rare find)
